Buckingham [ bʌkɪŋəm ] is a city in the north of the English county of Buckinghamshire, about 10 km from the border with Northamptonshire. Originally Buckingham was the county town; This is, however, Aylesbury today. The city has 11,572 inhabitants ( 2001).

In Buckingham is the UK's first and only private university, the University of Buckingham.

Nearby are the towns of Aylesbury, Bicester, Brackley, Milton Keynes and Towcester.
