Built to Spill

Built to Spill is an American indie rock band. Prior to founding the band in 1992 by Doug Martsch, Brett Nelson and Ralf Youtz was Martsch singer and guitarist of the band Treepeople. Scott Plouf was a drummer at the first Beck album One Foot in the Grave.

Appeared in 1993 with Ultimate Alternative Wavers the first studio album by the band. Since then, the cast of Built to Spill changed several times. Only Doug Martsch, who is considered the head of the group, is a permanent member of the band. In October 2009, There Is No Enemy, was the seventh album by the band published.

Significantly influenced the sound of the group by Dinosaur Jr., Pavement and Neil Young was. Doug Martsch founded in collaboration with the singer and label founder Calvin Johnson, the band Halo Benders.
