Bujumbura Rural Province

Bujumbura Rural is one of the 17 provinces of the State of Burundi, located in the west of the country.

The provincial capital is Bujumbura, which includes the following municipalities:

  • Mugongo - Manga
  • Isale
  • Mutimbuzi
  • Kanyosha
  • Kabezi
  • Muhuta
  • Nyabiraba
  • Mukike
  • Mubimbi

In the province lived in the year 2009 1.072.400 inhabitants in 1421 km ², which is / corresponds to a population density of 754.68 inhabitants km ².

Former President Cyprien Ntaryamira comes from this province.
