Bukowina Tatrzańska

Bukowina is a village and seat of the rural community in the powiat Tatrzański in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in southern Poland.

History

The first written mention of the village dates from 1630. In 1881 lived in Bukowina 1107 people. From 1975 to 1998, the village belonged to the now-defunct province of Nowy Sacz.

Culture and sights

About Local relevance finds the village since 2005 as a destination for skiing, and as a starting point for hiking in the High Tatras. It is famous among tourists and spa patients further for his run since December 6, 2008 Thermal; with an area of ​​around 5,000 m², the largest spa in Europe.
