Bulletin board

A Wall (often pin board, of Engl. Pin for pin ) is a board or a soft fiber, foam or cork, what can be fixed with tacks, pins or pushpins List. On magnetic metal walls of paper are attached with magnets. So even refrigerators serve as a bulletin board.

Both the spellings " Wall " and " pin board " are common, correct is " Wall ". The Duden knows only the " Wall ", which is derived " pinning " of the verb. The spelling of " bulletin board " is probably derived from the English "pin", which stands for needle or pin.
