Push-pin (game)

Pushpin (also push pin and put- pin) was a popular English children's game in the 16th to 18th centuries. In the game put two or more players needles ( pins) on the brim of a hat and try in turn by abutment (push) of the hat to bring the needles to to cross over. The player who manages this must retain the crossed needles, which were at that time still rare and valuable, as profit.

Likewise with Pushpin ( German name: piercing needle ) are forceful short needles called, which are provided with a small handle ( plastic, metal, glass).

They serve papers on a suitable underlay stuck to (eg, a board) and are the thumbtack similar.
