The Federal Highway 445 (abbreviated BAB 445 ) - Short form: Highway 445 (abbreviated as A 445 ) - leads from Werl about Wickede Arnsberg ( Neheim- Hüsten ). Current planning

In planning closing the gap between the A 2 in Hamm -Rhynern and today's development is north end of Werl. The A 445 therefore is to form a link road between the east-west lines A 2, A 44 and A 46 once. Since closing the gap in the A 46 towards Hagen has not yet occurred in the south, this goal has been achieved so far only to a part.

The expansion of A 445 is provided in the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan as urgent needs, some eight kilometer route will be built with two lanes in each direction. The plan approval process for continued construction of the A445 between Werl and A 2 was launched in February 2011. According Straßen.NRW completion in 2015 is planned. 2003, the construction costs were estimated at about 40 million euros, 2006 euros to about 60 million. The expansion is controversial due to its engagement in nature. After the three-day public hearing in November 2012 is expected with the planning decision before mid- 2013.

The end of the A445 in the south between Wickede and Neheim- Hüsten is actually no real end, instead, the route passes directly in the course of the A 46 towards Brilon. The driver noticed the change in numbering only on the basis of something unusual numbering on the anticipation referrers at the junction Neheim. In addition to the requirements applicable as from there the numbering numbering A 46 A 445, there is shown crossed out, coming from the A 46 towards Werl reversed accordingly.

The actual end of the A 445, and thus the location of the planned motorway junction with the un -built section of the A 46 towards Hagen is located in Ense. Since there still is no connection point there is currently so even a short section of the A46 sign-posted as A 445.

Earlier plans

Originally, the planned start of the A 445 a triangle with the never -built Northern variant of the A 40, the so-called lip border highway. The course should continue to perform over a lip - bridge to cross with the A 2 at Hamm -Rhynern, now the end of the planned expansion of the range in the north. Substitutions

The A445 replaces the inner city of Werl B 63 and thus also provides the north-south bypass of Werl. Some of the typical blue motorway signs are therefore still provided in addition to the federal road number. Some of these numbers have now but also pasted over.
