The station Burggasse City Hall is a built in deep level station of the Vienna U -Bahn line U6 on the border between the 7th and the 15th district of Vienna. It is named since 1898 the castle alley, a major axis of the 7th district, which extends between belt and two- line and was named in 1862 after their alignment to the Imperial Palace, on the other hand, in the 15th district located, according to plans by Roland Rainer Built 1953-1958 City Hall.

On the bridge over the assets of the U6 is a stop on the bus line 48A in the direction of travel is from the Baumgartnerhöhe Dr.- Karl- Renner-Ring.

The built after 1960, starting at the southern end of the platforms leads by means of fixed stairs and a lift by a result of the construction of the Main Library in the 2000s (begun 1999/2000, opening 7 April 2003) redesigned station building on the Urban- Loritz Square. Here it is possible to switch to the tram lines 6, 9, 18 and 49. The lines 6 and 18 have their north western terminus here.
