Burghead ( Scottish Gaelic: Am Broch ) is a small town in Moray, north-east of Grampian in Scotland. It is located about 12 kilometers northwest of the town of Elgin and has a population of 1,680 ( 2004 estimate ) ..
Burghead is located on a small peninsula extending north-west into the Moray Firth. The present town was built in 1805-1809, it was built over more than half a Pictish fort. The featured plant is called Burghead Fort.
Excavations rock slabs were found, were carved in the images of bulls. These representations are known under the name " Burghead Bulls " and symbol of the incurred until much later neighboring town.
