The Perdiguero de Burgos (sp. for, bird dog of Burgos ') is recognized by the FCI Spanish breed (FCI Group 7, Section 1.1, Standard No. 90).
Origin and History
The Perdiguero de Burgos is a down to earth for centuries, barely altered breed type in Spain. It is adapted to the local conditions, especially the weather. The exact origin of the breed is unknown, probably it originated from crosses of Sabueso Español with the Pachon Iberico, one bred in various local shock race, whose most famous representative of the Pachon Navarro is. The Perdiguero de Burgos was founded in 1911 by the Spanish Kennel Club, the Real Sociedad Central de Fomento de las Raza Caninas en España (now Real Sociedad Canina de España), recognized, however, were registered until 1936 only 319 animals in the studbook. Due to the Spanish Civil War and the Second World War, the breed almost died, only in 1950 was re- started with the breed.
Description
Up to 67 cm large hound mixed in white and liver-colored, irregular, a marbled - liver -colored, grayish - liver -colored or spotted liver- colored coat may arise, as well as other various combinations, depending on whether white or liver color is dominant and the white spots larger or smaller are. The coat is dense, of medium thickness, short, smooth, little undercoat. The ears are large, pendant, triangular, set at the height of the eyes.
