Burgsittensen Moor Railway

The narrow-gauge railway Burgsittensen is a light railway, which grew out of a former peat railway.

She served from 1931 to late 1999, when the last Torfabbaulizenzen in Tiste in Sittingbourne extinguished, for the removal of the peat, which was used among other things as fuel. Since the narrow-gauge railway was by then already become an integral part of the village's history, the club was founded Moor railway Burgsittensen eV to obtain this piece of technology history for posterity. Today, the narrow gauge railway is an attraction for tourists. Under expert leadership groups can be driven to a lookout, which provides an overview of the Tister Bauer Moor. There is also a hiking trail to the lookout tower, moor walking tours are not sold.
