Burhan Sargun

Burhan Sargun ( born February 11, 1929 in Ankara) was a Turkish football player. Through his many years of service for Fenerbahce he is strongly associated with this club. On fan and club sides, he is regarded as one of the major players in the club's history. At times player he was often as Canavar Burhan (German: Monster or Beast Burhan Burhan. ) Respectively. He received this nickname due to his outstanding strike rate and his dynamic style of play that the opposing players stole a lot of strength. He belonged to the squad of Turkey during the World Cup 1954.

Association

Burhan first played at Hacettepe SK. In 1951, he moved to Fenerbahçe Istanbul. When he scored 112 goals Fenerbahçe.

National

At the World Cup qualifiers in 1954 Burhan Sargun scored the golden goal against Spain and led the Turkish national team in the World Cup finals. Burhan scored eight goals in eight games for the Turkish national team.
