Results

The parliamentary election confirmed despite the loss of three seats, the dominant position of the previous and current ruling party Congrès pour la démocratie et le progrès that won with almost 50 % of the vote 70 of 127 seats. The - just yet - the strongest opposition party Alliance pour la Démocratie et la Fédération - Rassemblement Démocratique Africain was in contrast with a slight gain 11% of the vote. Almost on par was the opposition Union pour le Progres et le changement was only founded in 2010. No other party achieved double-digit percent results. 63 of the 74 are encountered parties received less than 1 % of the vote, in their majority, they received even each less than 0.1% and are therefore not listed in the following table. Three of these small parties could not ever win a seat in a regional constituency.

Fractions

As is common in many parliaments the elected members of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso to organize not in parties, but as fractions. The major parties thereby form their own groups, representatives of small parties join forces either in an existing group or to form together their own group that meets the minimum requirements of ten members. In the wake of the general elections of 2012, five political groups have formed. As the chart shows, the formation of a group, however, has no influence on the actual power relations; the CDP remains dominant with an absolute majority.
