Buzzard ( Buteo buteo)

The buzzard -like ( Buteoninae ) are a subfamily of the Accipitridae ( Accipitridae ) and thus belong to the order of birds of prey ( Accipitriformes ).

Your habitat is diverse. They are found in dense jungle, but also in open landscapes such as in prairies, plateaus, in marshes, seacoasts and deserts.

They have a body length of between about 30 and 110 cm, the span of their wings varies 85-155 cm. In some species, there are so-called " hoods " or "Pants", which are formed by specific growth of the plumage. Evident are the buzzard -like on the medium length, rounded tail and their relatively short toes.

The flying the buzzard -like is much more awkward than the agile hawks or falcons. But her body is particularly well suited for long gliding flights. They also are adaptable in their choice of food. Usually small to medium-sized mammals are hunted.
