Development region

Butwal is a city ( Nepali: Nagarpalika, English: municipality ) and administrative headquarters in southern Nepal in Rupandehi District in the Lumbini zone at an altitude of 127-665 m. The city is located in the Terai foothills of the Himalayas, about 240 km west of Kathmandu and at the crossroads of two major national roads: the Siddhartha Rajmarg of India to Pokhara and Mahendra Rajmarg, the major east -west connection.
