Buzhans
The Buschanen (Ukrainian Бужани, Russian Бужане ) were a tribe ostslawischer before the emergence of the Kievan Rus. They inhabited the area either side of the upper reaches of the Western Bug in the area of today's Western Ukraine and Eastern Poland.
Name
Therefore, the name is derived: Bug > Buschanen.
History
In the 9th century, the Bavarian Geographer Buschanen the first mentioned and called the number from a total of 230 smaller castles (ie, population centers ). In the 10th century they come to the Kievan Rus. The Primary Chronicle mentions the castle Busk center. Soon after, at the beginning of the 11th century, they obviously go into the Association of Volhynians and disappear as a people from the chronicles.
Some researchers believe that both the Buschanen and the Volhynians descended from the Duleben.
