Byambasuren Davaa

Byambasuren Davaa, actually Dawaagiin Bjambasüren (Mongolian Даваагийн Бямбасүрэн; * 1971 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia) is a Mongolian documentary filmmaker and director.

Life

Her career began Byambasuren 1989 - parallel to the study of law - as a moderator and assistant director at the state television Mongolia. 1995 to 1998 she studied at the Academy of Film Art, Ulaanbaatar. 2000, she went to the study of the documentary and television journalism at the University of Television and Film Munich. There, she turned to the intermediate diploma together with Luigi Falorni their second film: The Story of the Weeping Camel. This documentation was nominated a great success and for an Oscar in 2005 for Best Documentary worldwide. Your graduation film at the HFF turned Davaa 2005: The Cave of the Yellow Dog. In June 2008, the filming began, the song of the two horses with the Mongolian singer Urna, the Piazza Grande in Locarno on its world premiere in August 2009 for Davaas new feature documentary. The song of the two horses started on 3 June 2010 in the German cinemas nationwide and has been listed on more than 30 international film festivals. In addition to theatrical releases in Holland, France, Spain, Switzerland, the movie starts for the first time in theaters in Mongolia in 2012.
