Byas

Vyas ( transliteration also Byas ) is a town in the district Tanahu in Nepal, about 38 km (air line ) southeast of Pokhara. It was formed from the merger of the place Damauli with some neighboring communities; therefore Damauli is still a common name for the city. It is located just above the Madi Khola, a tributary of the Kali Gandaki. A 300 - m- long bridge leads over the river Vyas. Vyas is on Pritvi Rajmarg, the overland road from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
