C. Mayer (crater)

C. Mayer is an impact crater on the Moon's front page. It is located west of the crater Kane on the northern edge of Mare Frigoris. The Wall is hardly eroded and the interior has a central mountain on. In the southeast it is superposed on the heavily eroded craters C. Mayer D (formerly known under the name Gasser ), which opens in the southeast to the Mare Frigoris.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by German physicist and astronomer Christian Mayer.
