C/2006 M4 (SWAN)

C/2006 M4 ( SWAN ) is a comet on June 20, 2006 by Robert D. Matson of Irvine, California and Michael Mattiazzo from Adelaide, South Australia, on publicly available on the Internet images of the SWAN instrument of the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory was detected.

The comet passed through perihelion on 28 September 2006 its orbit. About a month later, on 24 October 2006, an outburst, the apparent brightness of the comet increased from 7mag to about 4mag, so that the comet could be seen freiäugig occurred.
