Cáceres CB

Cáceres CB was a Spanish basketball club from Cáceres.

History

The club was founded in 1961. He started in the second Spanish basketball league, where he played until 1992 permanently. In the 1991/92 season the team was able to rise to the highest Spanish league, the ACB league. Just arrived in the Upper House, it would be almost directly descended again. The main round has ended as 21, due to the success in the play- downs of the descent but was prevented. Consequently, Cáceres established in the elite league of Spain. 1994 took you a good fifth in the regular season and came into the play-offs to the quarterfinals.

In the 1994/95 season the club reached the semi-finals of the Korać Cup, where he lost to the eventual winner of this Cup Alba Berlin.

While it ended up in the league twice in a row in the midfield, the team came in 1997 to the cup final of the Spanish basketball Cup, the Copa del Rey de Baloncesto, before, where they lost Joventut Badalona with de 71:79. The club managed after 1994 no longer in the play-offs for the championship. With the descent he had for years and nothing to do. There was only enough for 17th place, following closely after eleven years in the ACB league of relegation to the second division. The financial situation was more tense and the club had to declare bankruptcy. With Cáceres Ciudad del Baloncesto there since 2007, a new basketball club in Caceres.
