Caecilia Metella Calva

Caecilia Metella was a member of the old Roman Plebejergeschlechts the Caecilier and the daughter of the consul of 142 BC, Lucius Caecilius Metellus Calvus.

Her brothers were the consuls of 119 and 109 BC, Lucius Caecilius Metellus and Quintus Caecilius Metellus Delmaticus Numidicus. It was about 119 BC, the wife of Lucius Licinius Lucullus, the BC officiated 104 as Praetor urbanus. The marriage had two sons: the famous Roman general Lucius Licinius Lucullus, the BC 74 exercised the consulate, and Marcus Terentius Varro Lucullus, who had held the highest office a year later. They had the reputation of an immoral woman.
