Caesar Salad

Caesar Salad is an internationally known salad of American cuisine, which is the Italian-American Cesare Cardini attributed. Others, mostly Cesare employees, among them his brother Alex, unsuccessfully gave him credit for the creation of dispute.

Cardini initially operated the restaurant Caesar 's Place in the Mexican Tijuana. The city lying directly on the border with the United States was frequented at the time of Prohibition particularly by Americans, since the alcohol serving in Mexico was still legal. According to Cardinis daughter Rosa took place on July 4, 1924, the American National Day, a run on the place, the kitchen was barely grown. The salad consists of romaine lettuce, a special dressing, croutons and parmesan cheese. For the dressing one egg yolk with olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt and freshly ground pepper is pitched like a mayonnaise to form an emulsion. The prepared salad leaves are mixed with the vinaigrette and finished with roasted garlic in oil croutons and shavings of Parmesan cheese. Depending on the recipe Caesar Salad is complemented with anchovy fillets, avocado, tomatoes, shrimp, fried chicken breast, etc..
