Caine Prize

The Caine Prize for African Writing is an annual award for the best English-language short story of an African author. The prize amounts to 10,000 British pounds.

The literature prize was founded in the UK in 2000. It was donated in Erinnererung to long-time president of the Booker Company, Sir Michael Caine Harris. Because of its proximity to the Booker Prize of the Caine Prize is also sometimes called the African Booker.
