The Río Caine is a source of the river Río Grande, in the Eastern Cordillera of the Bolivian Andes in South America.

Course

The Río Caine occurs 40 km south of the city of Cochabamba and east of the small town Capinota at an altitude of 2350 m at the confluence of the Río Rocha 108 km long and 88 km long Rio Arque. From there it flows in a south-easterly direction as a border river between the department of Cochabamba and Potosí Department.

During the rainy season from November to April, the river can swell dangerously, so there is no right in the valley settlements. As the gravel road transport route of the river is available only to a small extent for vehicles with four-wheel drive in the dry season.

In the tri-border region of the Departments of Cochabamba, Potosi and Chuquisaca unites the Río Caine with the Río San Pedro, which marks the border between the departments of Potosi and Chuquisaca, and then transmits to the following 1168 km the name Rio Grande before it empties into the Río Mamoré and later than the Madeira River merges into the Amazon.
