Caladesi Island State Park

The Iceland Caladesi State Park is one of the Florida State parks and is located on the Gulf Island Caladesi Iceland north of Clearwater Beach. The Island Caladesi Iceland belongs to the municipality Dunedin. The state of Florida bought the island in 1967 to expel them as a state park.

Visitors reach Caladesi Iceland on a small passenger ferry from the neighboring island honeymoon Iceland, or by private boat. A road connection does not exist. In 2008, Iceland Caladesi State Park was voted as the best beach in the USA. Already in 2006 and 2007 came to the beach from Iceland Caladesi State Park in the release of Dr. Beach ranking each position 2 of the best beaches in America. Next to the beach of Iceland Caladesi State Park is popular destination for leisure seekers, who find here a three-mile- long nature trail, picnic areas, a playground and a marina with 108 berths. More than 250 bird species can be observed in a state park.
