Calcutta High Court

The Calcutta High Court is the oldest High Court in India.

It was created because of the High Courts Act, 1861, and adopted on 1 July 1862 his work. His area of ​​responsibility includes the state of West Bengal and the union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Headquartered in Kolkata and there is a branch in Port Blair. The courthouse was built in 1872 in neo-Gothic style in the form of a belfry.
