Common Marigold ( Calendula officinalis)

Marigold (Calendula ) are a genus of flowering plants in the sunflower family ( Asteraceae). They are native to an area stretching from the Canary Islands to Iran.

Description

With Calendula species is annual to perennial herbaceous plants. The stems are erect or creeping. The alternate, simple leaves are petiolate or sessile. The leaf margins are smooth or serrated.

In the solitary basket- shaped inflorescences are located outside zygomorphe ray florets ( ray florets ) and inside radiärsymmetrische tubular flowers ( disc florets ). The usually orange or yellow petals are fused Roehrig.

Are formed achenes.

Use
