Calgary Courts Centre

Calgary Courts Centre is a high court buildings in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building is located on 601 5th Street SW and has a height of 129 meters with 24 floors. The building was built by the provincial government of Alberta Government of Alberta and is in their possession. The construction company was the Cana construction company.

History

Construction of the building was the end of 2004 and was completed in 2007. The construction also included a parking garage with 700 parking spaces, a park. For the old Court of Queen's Bench facility was demolished. The main executive architectural firm was Kasian Architecture and Interior Design Ltd.. in cooperation with the architect Carlos Ott Design. The safety features of the building were of Convergint Technologies. The engineer company was Stantec.

Facilities

The building recreational amenities include 73 courtrooms, offices, and other offices and other spaces for about 180 security officers and 360 administrative employees. The building has given the events of September 11 through various safety devices. So there are several extendable steel barriers that prevent a vehicle can travel in the foyer. The building can also withstand structural damage.
