Callac

Callac ( Breton: Kallag ) is a commune with 2323 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Côtes- d'Armor in the Brittany region. It belongs administratively to the district of the same name and Guingamp Canton Callac whose capital it is.

Geography

The municipality is situated approximately 30 kilometers south-west of Guingamp and 20 kilometers northeast of Carhaix- Plouguer. Neighboring communities of Callac are:

  • La Chapelle- Neuve in the north,
  • Bulat - Pestivier in the Northeast,
  • Saint -Servais in the southeast,
  • Duault in the south,
  • Plusquellec in the southwest and
  • Calanhel in the northwest.

The town itself is located in the south of the municipality, on the left bank of the river Hyère, which ensures the drainage of the area to Alder.

The municipality is mainly supplied by the department D787 road that leads from Guingamp on Callac after Carhaix- Plouguer. The same relation is also a railway line in Callac has a railway station runs.
