Callistratus (grammarian)

Kallistratos was an Alexandrian grammarian of antiquity. He lived around the middle of the 2nd century BC and was a pupil of Aristophanes of Byzantium, which is why he was also called Aristophaneios.

Kallistratos mainly dealt with the criticism and explanation of Homer and the dramatic poet. But his writings only from numerous quotations are known which can be found in later scholia.
