Cambridge Singers

The Cambridge Singers are a British a cappella chamber choir ensemble.

Founded by John Rutter in 1981, the choir consisted initially of singers of Clare College, where Rutter was Director of the musical branch. With the aim over the choir 's own label Collegium take sacred choral music, get the ensemble several successes. In addition to a recording of Handel's Messiah appeared numerous CDs with works by Rheinberger, Tallis, as well as some pieces by Rachmaninov, Victoria and Sheppard. Since the founding of the choir also several Christmas CDs have been recorded, the album appeared under the titles Christmas Night, Christmas Star, Christmas with the Cambridge Singers Cambridge Singers Christmas.
