CAMeL-View TestRig

CAMeL- ViewTestRig is a manufacturer iXtronics software for model-based design of mechatronic systems (MBS, block diagrams, hydraulic systems, simulation, linear analysis, hardware in the loop ).

CAMeL- ViewTestRig allows object-oriented modeling of mechatronic systems using graphical blocks. For the modeling primitives of the multi-body system dynamics, control theory, the hydraulic and the hardware connections are available. Private C code can also be integrated into the models. This allows the use of CAMeL- ViewTestRig in all phases of the model-based design (model phase, test phase and prototype phase ), particularly of mechatronic systems.

The model structure is described with the aid of directed and undirected connecting lines and displayed. There are both physical couplings (eg mechanical or hydraulic couplings) as well Eingangs-/Ausgangskopplungen ( " signal flow " ) are available. In particular, the type equations symbolically, for example, the input state of differential equations in vector - matrix form and. Based on the model structure of the described equations is generated in the form of a non-linear state space representation, and converted to C code executable.

For the simulation is in CAMeL- ViewTestRig a configurable experiment environment (simulator and instrumentation components ) are available with the help of the simulation models used on the supported target ( MPC565, TriCore, X86, ... ) without additional Software tools for hardware in the loop applications can be. Furthermore, the generation of so-called S-functions for use in Simulink and the generation of ANSI C code for use in stand-alone simulators is supported.

A significant feature of CAMeL - ViewTestRig is the way the descriptive equations are generated for multi-body system models. All FMD formalisms used for code generation generate the equations in the form of explicit ordinary differential equations ( ODE). This is especially in hardware in the loop applications is important because there has to be ensured that the calculation of the simulation results can be guaranteed within a fixed time slice. Only by the use of complex MBS models in hardware in the loop applications with hard real-time conditions is possible. This can not be guaranteed with the help of DAE - based methods.

There are other so-called toolboxes for the linear analysis ( eigenvalues , zeros, frequency response, etc. ), the VRML - based animation available.

CAMeL- ViewTestRig was developed from 1991 on Mechatronics Laboratory Paderborn ( Prof. Dr. -Ing. J. Lückel ) and is based on precursors that have been developed since 1986. The name stands for Computer Aided Mechatronic Laboratory - Virtual Engineering Workbench, and describes the basic intention of a tailored to the needs of design engineers in the computer labs. Since 1999 CAMeL- ViewTestRig by the company iXtronics, a spin -off from the Mechatronics Laboratory Paderborn, sold as a commercial product and further developed.
