Cameo Records

Cameo Records was a successful in the 1920s American record label. It is in no way affiliated with today's Cameo Parkway label.

History

Were founded in the Cameo Records in 1922 in Manhattan, New York City, where the recording studio and headquarters were. With jazz and orchestral music, the label was very successful during the decade, especially by the low price of 50 cents for a plate. Cameo also had some sub-labels, such as the Lincoln Records, Romeo Records and Cameo -Kid, which was intended for children's music. 1928 Cameo was taken from the Pathé Records and as a member of the American Record Corporation. Until 1930, plates were published under the name Cameo continue.
