Lincoln Records

Lincoln Records was an American record label of the 1920s.

History

Lincoln Records was founded in 1923 as a sublabel of Cameo Records to popular dance music from unknown bands cheap to sell. Thus, a gap in the market for buyers was filled who wanted to buy good music cheap, but not care about the performers. The material for the label came from Cameo and was re- published under pseudonyms so as not to compete with the more expensive cameo plates. The plates Lincoln had on the lettering of the label a drawing of President Abraham Lincoln.

1929 Cameo part of the American Record Corporation ( ARC), the Lincoln Records took over a year, after which it ceased production. In the 1940s, the label for some symptoms of children's music has been reissued, but quickly withdrawn from sale. In later years there were repeated labels under the same name, which, however, in no way connected with the Lincoln Records 1923-1930 stood.
