Camille Bombois

Camille Bombois ( born January 3, 1883 in Veneray -les -Laumes, † June 11, 1970 in Paris ) was a French painter naive.

Camille Bombois grew up as the son of a boatman on a floating barge and hired himself in his early years as a servant, assistant or fairground wrestler. At 20 he went to Paris, where he made ​​his way as workers in the metro and in a newspaper printing. Over time, he began painting and devoted himself mainly of naive painting, especially female nudes, landscapes and scenes of the carnival life. 1922 his paintings were first exhibited at the Montmartre. Bombois was among other participants in the first Documenta in Kassel.
