Camille Polonceau

Jean- Barthélémy Camille Polonceau ( born October 29, 1813 in Chambéry, † September 21, 1859 in Viry -Châtillon ) was a French railway engineer.

Life

He was the son of Antoine -Rémy Polonceau and biological cousin of Gustave Ernest Polonceau. He got an excellent degree from École Centrale des Arts et Manufactures in Paris.

Polonceau is the inventor of " Polonceau binder " with double struts, which are arranged like an upside down V. Ties are the supporting element, for example, for ceiling or roof structures.

He is also the designer of the train "train impérial " of Napoleon III. the railway company Compagnie du Chemin de fer de Paris à Orléans.
