Camp Stanley

Camp Stanley is a U.S. army base outside of Uijeongbu, South Korea, and acts as an outpost of Camp Red Cloud, the headquarters of the U.S. 2nd Infantry Division and nuclear association of the 8th U.S. Army.

History

Since 1955, the base existed as a tent city, 1969, the first buildings were erected.

Before the general troop reductions of U.S. forces in South Korea because of the war on terror against the 2005 Camp Stanley, the following units were stationed:

  • 6th Battalion, 37th Field Artillery ( MLRS ) ( 1) headquarters battery,
  • (3 ) fire batteries
  • ( 1) battery of the 38th FA Regiment ( A-38 ) This was a reinforced battalion of MLRS artillery firing with 9 additional devices.
