Campbell P. White

Campbell Patrick White ( born November 30, 1787 Ireland, † February 12, 1859 in New York City ) was an American politician. From 1829 to 1835, he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Campbell Patrick White was awarded a modest education. He emigrated in 1816 to the United States and then went to New York City commercial transactions. Politically, he was a member of the Jacksonian Group. In the congressional elections of 1828 White was the third electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded Churchill C. Cambreleng, Jeromus Johnson and Gulian C. Verplanck took on March 4, 1829 which had previously together represent the third district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was re-elected three times in a row, however, occurred in 1835 before the start of the 24th Congress from his seat back. During the time as a congressman he had presided over the Committee on Naval Affairs ( 23rd Congress ). After the end of his term he returned to his commercial transactions. On January 24, 1831, he was appointed quartermaster-general in the militia of New York. White took in 1845 as a delegate part in the Constitutional Convention of New York. He died on February 12, 1859 in New York City and was buried in St. Paul 's Cemetery.
