Campidano

The Campidano is a 110 km long and 12-25 km wide lowland strip of approximately 2500 km ² in area, the Gulf of Oristano and Cagliari with each other in the southwest of Sardinia. The term Campidano means in Sardinian wide Ebene.Verwaltungsmäßig is the Campidano part of the three provinces of Oristano, Medio Campidano and Cagliari.

The Campidano is extremely fruitful: Even in the days of the Phoenicians and the Romans intensive cereal and wine was practiced.
