Campo de Belchite

The Campo de Belchite is a Comarca (administrative unit ) of the Aragon Autonomous Community in Spain. It is located in the center of the region in the province of Zaragoza. The comarca has an area of ​​1043.8 km ² 5,505 inhabitants. Seat of the district is Belchite, the largest of the 16 associated municipalities.

The Comarca is bordered to the west by the Campo de Carintilde and Campo de Daroca, in the north and northeast by the Comarca Zaragoza, in the southeast and south by Bajo Martín.

The associated communities, in addition Belchite Almochuel, Almonacid de la Cuba, Azuara, Codo, Fuendetodos, Lagata, Lécera, Letux, Moneva, Moyuela Plenas, Puebla de Albortón, Samper del salt and Valmadrid.

The most important industry is agriculture on dry soil. The main crops are cereals besides wine and olives. In the comarca of the nature reserves of the basin of El Planeron ( bird sanctuary ) and Lomaza de Belchite lie. Fuendetodos, the birthplace of the painter Francisco de Goya, located in the comarca.
