Canadian Brass

Canadian Brass is a brass quintet in Toronto, Canada.

The Quintet

The quintet was founded in 1970 by Chuck Daellenbach (tuba) and Gene Watts ( trombone). In the course of its existence, it has repeatedly changed his occupation.

The ensemble has over 5000 performances and concerts performed worldwide, included more than 60 recordings, issued a series of brass instruments manufacturer Yamaha Corporation under his own design and sells their own arrangements. It has received numerous awards and honors.

Music Education plays a key role in the history of Canadian Brass. In their worldwide tours, the members frequently pause to teach in workshops and master classes. The ensemble chamber quintet -in- residence at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California.

A curious trademark of the quintet is the practice, in addition to the mandatory dress suit for a chamber musician, performing in white sneakers.

Music

The repertoire ranges from Baroque to Jazz, Dixieland, Ragtime, Broadway music and standards to contemporary popular music. Canadian Brass seamlessly manages to stretch a musical bridge between all styles and eras. Numerous commissioned and composed of members from all styles of arrangements paved the way for many other brass quintets worldwide.

With their unbeatable blend of virtuosity, spontaneity and humor, these men remain the lineup of concert halls, international festivals and orchestra series worldwide. Her numerous records, television appearances and their educational activities have earned them a large audience.
