Canadian Solar was founded in 2001 by Dr. Shawn Qu, and since then produces standard and special modules. The company's headquarters is in Canada, the production facilities are located in China and Canada. 2008 Canadian Solar had delivered a module capacity of 600 MW, 2010, more than 800 MW. The company is also a sponsor of the football clubs Hannover 96 and 1 FC Nuremberg.
