CANoe

CANoe is a development and test software of Vector computer science GmbH. The software is mainly used for vehicle and control equipment suppliers to design, analysis, simulation, testing, diagnosis and start of ECU networks and individual ECUs. Due to its wide distribution and the variety of supported bus system, it is particularly well suited for ECU development of conventional vehicles as well as for hybrid and electric vehicles.

CANoe supports the CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet and MOST and CAN-based protocols such as SAE J1939, CANopen, ARINC 825, ISOBUS and many more.

Description

In 1996, the first CANoe license from Vector was sold. The software has established itself as a world -spread tool for ECU development ever since. In addition to the main application " electronic networking in the automobile " the use of CANoe in industries such as commercial vehicles, rail vehicles, special vehicles, avionics, medical and many more done.

New approaches in the automotive industry to network with IP architectures are supported by CANoe. In addition to communication within vehicles CANoe is also used in the development of cooperative systems over Car2X.

At the beginning of the development process of a control device network or ECU are created with CANoe simulation models that emulate the behavior of the control units. In the further course of ECU development, these models serve the basis for the analysis, testing and integration of bus systems and control devices.

The data is presented and evaluated both raw and symbolic. For this purpose, the data format was developed in 1992 by DBC already vectors, which has developed in the automotive industry for de-facto standard for the exchange of CAN descriptions. In accordance with the relevant standards in the other bus systems are supported, for example FIBEX in FlexRay, LIN LDF at EDS / DCF / XDD for CANopen.

Versions

Version 1.0 was released in 1996. The current version of CANoe 8.1 (May 2013).

CANoe is available in different variants. This refers to the range of functions (full, run, pex ) to supported bus systems (CAN, FlexRay, ... ) and supported higher-level protocols (SAE J1939, CANopen, ...).

It displays the languages German, English and Japanese support.
