Cape Henlopen State Park

The Cape Henlopen State Park is a state park in Sussex County, Delaware, on the Atlantic coast of the United States. The name derives was the Cape Henlopen, the southernmost tip of the Delaware Bay. The 2102 -acre park was in 1682 by William Penn as the first so-called public land of the United States later established.

At the Cape of Fort Miles, a military fort from the Second World War. The fort guarded the entrance to Delaware Bay. The Cape forms the beginning of the American Discovery Trail.
