Cape Mesurado

Mesurado Cape is a cape on the West African Atlantic coast in the province of Montserrado, Liberia. The striking place protrudes about 7 km from the coast line and has a conspicuous mountain, on which a lighthouse was built for the Port of Monrovia in the 19th century.

History

Pedro de Sintra, a Portuguese explorer who reached the Cape in 1461, he called it because of the height difference at the higher, farther west Cape Mount Cape Mesurado. ( German: the "modest, moderate" chapter ).

Others

The western tip of Cape Mesurado was assigned the name Mamba Point.
