Capelrig House

Capelrig House is a mansion in the Scottish city of Newton Mearns in the East Renfrewshire unitary authority. It lies on the northern edge of the city, opposite a modern school complex. 1971 Capelrig House was inducted into the Scottish monument lists in category A. The three storey building is built in the Georgian style.

History

In the 12th century the Templars possessed the lands of today's Capelrig Houses. Later they were transferred to the Order of Malta. Maybe was at that time a chapel on the hill.
