The place is part of the municipality in the district guardao Tondela, in the district of Viseu and lies at an altitude of 1300 meters above sea level.

After the 800 meter high site Caramulo the eponymous mountain range, the Serra do Caramulo is named. The hilly area, which is known for healthy air, combined with breathtaking scenery.
