Carlo Borer

Carlo Borer ( born March 23, 1961 in Solothurn ) is a Swiss artist and designer.

Work

Carlo Borer is conscious self-taught artist. Since 1981 he works as a freelance. He began by representational painting, drawings and three-dimensional works made ​​of polyester and electric light. From 1991, he builds objects made ​​of chromium steel or aluminum and designs since 1999, he developed and designed by 3D CAD sculptures, sculptures, installations, furniture or utilitarian objects, such as espresso machines, fans and mailboxes. With the laser, the shapes are cut out of sheet metal, rounded and welded. The resulting works titled Borer as transformers, loops or clouds. For his no readymades and Space Ships to Borer can indeed inspired by found objects, but the works created by more advanced CAD systems as complex shapes in virtual reality.

Carlo Borer lives in Wanzwil and has a studio in Zuchwil.
