Carlo Masala

Carlo Masala ( born March 27, 1968 in Cologne) is professor of international politics as well as Dean of the Faculty of Law - and social sciences at the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich, lecturer at the University of Munich is also a lecturer and member of the Senate at the University of policies.

In the years 1988-1992 Masala studied in Cologne and Bonn Political Science and German and Romance Languages ​​and Literatures. In Cologne, then he worked as a research assistant and later Academic Council. In 1996 he received his doctorate at the Institute of Political Science and European Affairs with a dissertation on the German -Italian relations. In 2002 Masala habilitation in political science. A year later, he became a professor at the University of Munich. From 2004 he worked at the NATO Defence College in Rome. From 2006 to 2007 he was deputy director there in the research department. Since July 2007 Masala is the holder of a Chair of International Politics at the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich. Since October 2011 he has been Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences.

Masala is considered neorealist and research focus among others in the areas of theories of international politics, security policy and transatlantic relations.
